Hon’ble Chairman Dr.A.Shanmugasundaram, a philanthropist, established Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal Medical Educational and Charitable Trust in 1981 with a view to serve the society and especially the poor. This trust established Aarupadai Veedu Medical College & Hospital in 2000.As Hon’ble Chairman had the poor villagers in mind, he established this college amongst rural surroundings.
